ARE INVESTIGATOR SITE PAYMENTS CONTRIBUTING TO DRUG PRICING?

A survey was conducted in 2016 that states that 66% sites report having less than 3months of operating cash on-hand. Another research was done about payment delays and, due to payment delays 40% sites are dropping out of clinical trials. At the end of the day when we think that how many things does this encompasses. It compasses a lot of things including interactive clinical trial execution. We never take this into consideration but it really does contribute in drugs pricings.

There are three troublesome points that are caused by investigators site payment which are as follow:

1.     Frequency

The smaller sites are being paid very infrequently. Some are paying quarterly while some are yearly.

2.     Payment detail

Sometimes vendors do not receive the actual details of the company they are receiving payments from.

3.     Communication pathway

Sometimes the vendors receives the payments cheque but they are not provided a contact or address of any company they should contact if they find any trouble in cheque or payment.
