What Is A Protocol Deviation?

Any changes in research plans approved from institutional review board that are not mentioned in the agreements. These changes are said to be as deviation from protocols.

If research is not working according to the schedule and things are not going according to the agreements then deviations are occurring in the protocols. These deviations from protocols can be of different form as major deviations and minor deviations which are different form each other.

• Major deviations are harmful for the patients involved in the trials and defects the research related data.

Minor deviations are quite opposite from major deviation as it do not ruin the research data and is also not harmful for the participants of the trial. Minor deviations can be prevented by some changes in schedule as anything that comes up with the participant and he cannot appear according to the schedule.
